Lots of fun things going on in Tinseltown today. In fact, so many things that I decided to include a few sentences on all the top stories today! Something a bit more brief yet entertaining I promise. Chale? Chalo!
So, Imran Khan is apparently the new gay icon in India. Post IHLS and his open shirt hoopla, the gay community has taken an instant liking to IK. Gay Bombay apparently contacted Dharma Productions and requested a special screening. Dharma was estactic and agreed. In fact, Imran attended the screening and interacted with his gay, literally and figuratively speaking, fans.
Salman Khan has chosen Deepika Padukone over girlfriend Katrina Kaif for the Hindi remake of the South film Bodyguard. No real reason has been given except that Sallu and director Atul Agnihotri, were looking for a fresh face to go with Salman. Interesting baat, Salman and Katrina haven't worked together since a debacle better known as Yuvraaj. Just saying.
I'm uberly utterly excited! Koffee With Karan will be making a comeback this September and I am overjoyed. Look, I don't love the show for the content but I do love watching Karan Johar sucking up to the stars and vice versa. I love the boring sweet questions and the diplomatic answers. I love the Manish Malhotra clothes. Yes, I'm excited! But before the season begins, Karan will be hosting a special show with Kajol and Kareena Kapoor all in time for We Are Family. That should be fun!
And lastly, my buddy, Paul the Octopus is still in the news! Apparently, a Madrid zoo wants to adopt the eight-legged creature. Oh the life of a famous Octopus is so hard!
P.S. If you haven't heard the music of Aisha, I suggest you do! While I'm not a Sonam Kapoor fan, I do love the music of her upcoming film. Why should I hold the music makers responsible for a bratty star child. A must hear!

Shammi Kapoor is Back!
I am so so so excited! One of my favorite 60's actors, the legendary Shammi Kapoor is set to make a comeback! Courtesy of my father, who is Shammi Kapoor's most ardent fan, I grew up watching almost all Kapoor's films. He will forever me the ultimate rockstar who could rock any look, any dance move, any film. And he is back! Shammi Saab has been confined to his wheelchair for many years now but all it took was Imitiaz Ali and his new leading man Ranbir Kapoor (Shammi Saab's grandnephew) to approach the dancing star and convince him to guest star in Ali's upcoming film Rockstar! Check out this Hindustan Times article where he talks about his lineage of work, abusing his health, Ranbir Kapoor and on his comeback.
Okay on a side note, the FIFA final is underway (I'm doing a quick update at half-time) and while the score is 0:0 (more cards than shots on goals. Grr..) I am predicting a better second half. But more than anything, I'm curious to see if my new buddy, Paul the Octopus' prediction becomes a reality. By the way, the Spanish have claimed that IF (and only if) Spain wins the title, they would like to adopt Paul and christen him, Pablo. Right. I think this whole Paul the Psychic Octopus thing has gotten way outta hand. In fact so much so that I read something about other animals in other parts of the world too that are headed the psychic way. I think their owners are forcefully making them "predict" rather. But there is only one Paul, I guess. Okay looking for ways to eat Octopus? The demand for octopus has definitely increased courtesy of Paul. Check out Mid-Day's yummy ideas!
In the meantime, Waka Waka folks!

Today I Cover the World!
Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar are topless in Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara! For the ladies and their admirers, i.e. moi, this is great news! It is rare that we see both actors and so seeing them sans shirts makes me go hubba-hubba-hubba! Abhay Deol, who is also starring in the film decided not to shed his shirt (wuss!) and so will be seen in a vest (read: boring!). I think it may be a slight complex that the no-pack Deol may feel towards the many packed Roshan and Akhtar. Note to Abhay: We'll take you, topless or not!
In other news, my new best friend Paul the Octopus predicted Germany's win for third place which happened today. We all waiting patiently for the final for which the eight-legged creature has placed his legs around a Spain win. By the way, PETA has come out in defense of the Octopus and believes that he should be freed! Yes, animal rights activists are upset at the amount of publicity Paul is receiving. They claimed no animal should be confined to a tank and so on. Uh...where were they when he was unknown to the world?
And another piece of news that I found oh so fascinating was this one: Victoria Beckham is a Strict Mom. My initial reaction, "Uh huh." So I read on to find out that she has a punishment chair for the kids. Yes, if they do anything wrong they are sent to sit. On a chair. Oh the torture. I wonder if the chair is designer? Made of pure leather? You know what would be a better punishment? Perhaps if she made her kids listen to some of her music. And mind you, I'm a huge Spice Girls fan! I promise.

Psychic Paul Predicts!
So what's is the deal with Paul the Octopus? He has to by far be the most popular octopus on this planet! He's received death threats, wants to be eaten and so on. So everyone has been wondering as to who the psychic octopus would predict as the winner of this year's FIFA. He has spoken! If the octopus is to be believed, it will be none other than Spain who will take home the cup this year. And if he is correct this time around, he would have been 100 percent correct with his predictions this time around.
Oh and in case you're wondering who he's picked for third place, the eight-legged creature has put his legs around Germany - literally. On a side note, I am really in the mood for some calamari. Eeks!
And talking about this year's FIFA, the Vuvuzela, which has gained much musical attention since the football (soocer depending where in the world you are) has been banned in the UAE. Erm...yeah. It apparently damages your hearing. One hoot or toot of the Vuvuzela apparently gives off 127 decibels of sound. That's pretty damn loud. So basically don't take a Vuvuzela back to the UAE, it will get confiscated. Watcha say?
