Lara Scores!

I absolutely adore Lara Dutta. She's smart, savvy, grounded and pretty. And even though I don't care too much for her constant relationship issues, it is understandable since the girl is so hot. After breaking up with long term boyfriend Kelly Dorji, Lara was seen in the company of Dino Morea. It didn't work out with him and so she find solace in the arms of Mahesh Bhupathi with whom she has been making a number of public appearances. They were seen together at the IIFA Awards in Sri Lanka and then swiftly made their way to South Africa for the FIFA World Cup.

Word has it that besides indulging in some soccer (or football, whichever floats your boat) Lara also hit the casinos and apparently made quite a bit of moolah. Happy with her winnings, she head back home and was in for an even bigger surprise. Bhupathi and his ex-wife managed to sort out their issues regarding marriage all that jazz, thus making Lara dually happy.

Deepika Vs. Sonam

Mid-Day, my favorite tabloid/publication did this fab piece in which it put Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone side-by-side and basically compared every aspect of their careers thus far. And as it turns out, Deepika was voted the better actress. Er... I think they both are equal...as bad! None of them show any promise if you ask me, and apparently, because I'm honest about how untalented as actress I find Sonam Kapoor, I have been deemed a Sonam Kapoor hater. But that's a different story. In the meantime, it was interesting to see both the ladies careers side-by-side especially since both of them started at the same time.

In terms of projects completed, Deepika reigns with seven films to her name while Sonam has only three. And Deepika even takes the cake with hit films; she has three (Om Shanti Om, Love Aaj Kal, Housefull) and Sonam has a mere one (I Hate Luv Storys). While Deepika is admired for her toned body, Sonam is looked up to for her keen style of sense and so on. Okay the article goes on to talk about more interesting comparisons in their careers like Banners, Khans they've worked with, endorsements, money they make, future projects, blah blah blah. But what was most fascinating to read was this:

And why that piece of information is a bit odd, is simply because Sonam fans are incredibly faithful to her and can't hear a word against her -- believe me, I know. But at the same time, you'd think they would con and brainwash Deepika fans into boycotting her. Get on it Sonam fans!

Psychic Paul Predicts!

So what's is the deal with Paul the Octopus? He has to by far be the most popular octopus on this planet! He's received death threats, wants to be eaten and so on. So everyone has been wondering as to who the psychic octopus would predict as the winner of this year's FIFA. He has spoken! If the octopus is to be believed, it will be none other than Spain who will take home the cup this year. And if he is correct this time around, he would have been 100 percent correct with his predictions this time around.


Oh and in case you're wondering who he's picked for third place, the eight-legged creature has put his legs around Germany - literally. On a side note, I am really in the mood for some calamari. Eeks!


And talking about this year's FIFA, the Vuvuzela, which has gained much musical attention since the football (soocer depending where in the world you are) has been banned in the UAE. Erm...yeah. It apparently damages your hearing. One hoot or toot of the Vuvuzela apparently gives off 127 decibels of sound. That's pretty damn loud. So basically don't take a Vuvuzela back to the UAE, it will get confiscated. Watcha say?
