Shame Shame Barkha Dutt!

She got caught. Now if only Barkha Dutt would own the hell up! I mean here you are caught on tape conversing with politicians clearly agreeing to lobby for them and you still expect us to expect your "authenticity" claim as important? Its sad that such a renowned journalist like Dutt stooped the lowest level in the world possible. And worst part is she is chooses to evade herself from the situation. You've been caught Madam! It irks me that people actually believed she was the most honest face of the Indian media. So much for that huh? Granted there are unanswered questions. We don't know why the conversations were recorded or how they got into the hands of Open Magazine but irrespective, your little golmaal madam Dutt, simply wasn't foolproof enough apparently. And as much as the likes of Barkha Dutt and Vir Sanghvi (his exposure really upset me) choose to deny their association in the "scam", they are a part of it. They scream and shout of the government being corrupt, but they clearly are no less. They sit and protect government officials who are cheating the country! If you help such people, you are clearly no less and deserve to be punished. These journalists represent brands and huge media stations: NDTV and Hindustan Times. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

What's worst, no media outlet - print, online or television, wanted to break this story. It was all over Twitter and yet, no one them wanted to come out and spill the beans. Why? Clearly they too are scared of being exposed or worried that they too may come under fire. But only the guilty would feel that way. Are the likes of Times of India worried of their own journalists being a part of the same scam? This is thoroughly unprofessional. But what does that mean? Do we boycott and shun these media outlets? Maybe not but the Press Council to India should and must intervene. This is unacceptable. In the meantime, both these so-called journalists should be forced to resign. Actually why "forced?" If they had any shame, they'd do it voluntarily.
If the media can't help expose the bad and ugly, they do not deserve such a platform.

Following the updates on Twitter, I saw a number of citizens question other uninvolved Indian journalists who turned around and were innately rude to the tweeters. But the one that irked me the most was one that told the tweeter to "learn English". How dare the media come out and speak that way! Its simply disgusting. They sing hymns of ethics and morals, of patriotism and nationalism, of a clean uncorrupted India. All lies and rubbish.

Today they have put the Indian media to shame. Down with them, I say.
